Accepts complaints and enforces city maintenance codes on private property. Includes complaints about overgrown vegetation, overhanging trees, weeds, debris, junk motor vehicles, excessive storage, general building maintenance, zoning violations, substandard and unsanitary housing conditions (except mold), unsafe, vacant or neglected buildings, illegal peddlers, and illegal signs.

Enforces the Property Maintenance Code, the Zoning Ordinance, and various municipal codes. Investigates and issues civil or criminal citations for complaints including inoperable vehicles, excessive weeds, landscaping maintenance, fences in disrepair, signs, trash and debris, graffiti, unsafe structures, and property parking violations.

Provides law enforcement services including emergency response throughout the city. Accepts and investigates reports of non-emergency situations. Calls handled include minor traffic problems, burglary and theft reports, loud noise complaints, abandoned vehicles, missing person reports where the missing person is not in imminent danger, etc.

Ensures requirements of the Adopted Codes are met for buildings constructed within Dewey-Humboldt. Enforces Town zoning and land use ordinances. Enforces land use and property maintenance requirements set by Town Codes and Ordinances within Dewey-Humboldt. Enforces Town Junk, Hazardous and Abandoned Motor Vehicle Codes. Involves the community in preserving the Town's culture and quality of life.
