Description

Protects federal employees and applicants from prohibited personnel practices, including retaliation for whistleblowing. Provides a secure channel for federal workers to disclose information about various workplace improprieties, including violation of laws or regulations, gross mismanagement and waste of funds, abuse of authority, and dangers to public health or safety. Through the Hatch Act, regulates the partisan political activities in which federal employees may participate. Protects the civilian employment and reemployment rights of military veterans and members of the Guard and Reserve by enforcing the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
